Issio

The Company I worked for: issio.com

I specialize in creating features that could be added on to existing pages that have no room and need to be reorganized as well. The UI for my current company's platform was created by developers in 2011 which meant that it really needed a designers touch to make sure that the users (nurse managers and charge nurses) have a super easy and quick user experience so that they can breeze through scheduling and get back to what matters most which is patient care.

I used our company design system with these features, Therefore the color, font and button choices were not my own.

Prototype for Horizontal Templating

Horizontal Templating

This templating tool prototype was created for Nurse Managers in VA hospitals that wanted to be able to schedule their staff more efficiently.

Things that they were looking for:

-A way to save scheduling templates/rename them/delete them
-An easy solution to making mass scheduling changes
-A way to edit existing templates
-A solution for applying templates to multiple staff members for multiple weeks at a time

While creating a template the user would first name the template then fill in the given information for each day with the blanks given: Start time of the shift, location, the role that the staff member would be in, and the shift length (these blanks are editable at all times)

They would then be given a grid with Days of the Week

Sun Mon Tue Wed Thurs Fri Sat that they could hover over individually and  transfer the information from the previous filled in blanks.

The user would hover on Sunday (or any day) and see a preview of the information that they had input into the blanks: 0730, OR3, Admin, 8 hr

( Start time of the shift, location, the role that the staff member would be in, and the shift length )

I can give a much more detailed explanation if given the opportunity- it was a huge project that I designed start to finish implementing feedback from my mentors, the engineering team and users.

my last biggest project was called Horizontal Templating which called for a way to let Nurse Managers/Charge nurses create a custom schedule that can easily be repeated each week and can be applied to anyone.

Horizontal templating allowed the user to create custom templates and freely apply them to any staff member they'd like just by clicking on that staff members highlighted week.

When users want to create a custom weekly template they would hit the "Week Templating" Button and Horizontal templating would slide in from the top of the page, not covering the scheduling system. This would then allow the user to create a template, name it, choose from list of already created templates to use, edit an existing template, search for an existing template, and apply templates.
